Monika Zielińska
Head of the Education Department
I graduated in Cultural Studies from the Faculty of Humanities at AGH University. I am an alumna of several courses and training programs in global and anti-discrimination education, the most significant of which for me is the School of Anti-Racist Practices — the first educational and developmental program in Poland dedicated to anti-racist education (Alliance for Black Justice in Poland, 2023), the School of Global Education for the Youngest (ODE “Źródła” 2018/2019), Engage! — global education for everyone (ODE “Źródła,” 2017), and the Critical Educator’s Toolbox / Summer PAH Academy (PAH, 2017).
I have been with Salam Lab since the organization’s inception in 2021. I created the Association to drive change and advocate for an equal society. At Salam Lab, I head the Education Department and work as an educator and trainer. I conduct workshops and training sessions in anti-discrimination and global education, mainly working with youth in primary schools. I also create new educational programs and tools and participate in meetings where I talk about our successes, challenges, and needs.
What does equality mean to you?
Equality, for me, means relationships built on mutual respect, fairness, and harmony.
Which element of Salam Lab’s mission is most important to you?
e and discrimination. Educational activities, through which we pursue this
aspect of our mission, are the closest form of action for change to me
